- Principles of first aid
- Priorities of first aid
- Infection control principles
- Understanding of the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- First aid management of major and minor injury and illnesses
- Awareness of stress management techniques and available support
- Social and legal issues
- Approach to an incident
- Airway and breathing management
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- The secondary survey (examination of a patient)
- Medical emergencies
- Trauma injuries
- Preparing incident reports
- Evaluating own response and making improvement where required
