Chemicals in the Work place - Raising the standard, managing the risks

Chemicals are a risk in our workplace and exposure to some can be dangerous, resulting in sickness, burns and in some extreme cases, cancer.

With this in mind, Safe Work Australia has launched two incentives- an evaluation of exposure standards for more than 600 chemicals to ensure worker health and safety in Australia is comparable with the latest evidence and international best practices, and a new guide to managing risks of exposure to carcinogens in the workplaceBoth incentives aim to minimise the adverse health risks and guide workplaces on how to handle, use and dispose of chemicals.
