Students will learn the skills and knowledge to be able to provide a first aid response until higher assistance is provided.
The 1-day course is aligned with the Australian and New Zealand (ANZCOR) Guidelines regarding assessing a situation and managing casualties and others in an emergency.
There are no pre or post course requirements - all assessment and activities are conducted in the classroom.

Please note, this is the competency outlined for First Aiders in the workplace, in accordance with the Code of Practice - First Aid in the Workplace. The Code of Practice states a First Aider should regularly refresh their knowledge and skills with industry best practice indicating every 3 years.

You may be eligible to receive Construction Skills Queensland funding for this course if you are a worker or an apprentice / trainee in the building and construction industry.
Anyone appointed as a first aid officer in the workplace should hold a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for Provide First Aid as outlined in the First aid in the workplace Code of Practice.
They should also attend regular training to refresh their knowledge and skill.
Training also applies to anyone who wishes to or may be required to provide a first aid response.

Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer assessors who have industry currency supported by a strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
It includes practical and theoretical activities to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.
Students are required to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin placed on the floor, a factor that should be considered when deciding on this course.
