About the Course
Our Asbestos Awareness course provides students with the knowledge to identify asbestos, where it may be found and an understanding of the steps involved to work safety with ACM (asbestos containing materials).
Asbestos awareness training is essential for any worker in construction or related industries where asbestos containing materials may be present.
If you need to work in environments where asbestos may be present, attending this course will assist you to identify materials likely to contain asbestos, and teach you the safety requirements for working with asbestos.
This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by WorkSafe Connect (RTO 31385).
For workers in the Australian Capital Territory, WorkSafe ACT mandates that you must complete a specific awareness course called “10675NAT Course in Asbestos Awareness”. This is not that course.
Who Should Attend
This course is for workers who may come into contact with asbestos-containing materials (ACM) during their work. It is particularly relevant to construction and demolition workers, tradespeople (plumbers, electricians, painters, carpenters), maintenance and facilities staff, supervisors, managers, council workers, and anyone working in older buildings or infrastructure projects.
This training may also be suitable for workers undertaking very minor asbestos-related tasks (less than 10m²); however, eligibility is determined by site and company policies.
CSQ Funding
You may be eligible to receive CSQ funding for this course if you work in the building & construction industry in Queensland.
If eligible, this course (AGAT) is fully subsidised with no out of pocket expense.

Course Delivery Options
Our Asbestos Awareness training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer assessors who have industry currency, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.
Students will undertake a short theoretical assessment to capture their understanding of asbestos awareness.

- Online – this course is also delivered in a self-paced online format (approx. 1 hour in duration)

Accreditation
To complete the course, students must successfully complete all assessments.
All assessments are completed during the course – no assessment activities need to be completed prior to or post the training course.
Upon successful completion of the course requirements, students will receive a Statement of Completion.
Asbestos awareness forms part of our Asbestos training courses which included remove non-friable asbestos and supervise asbestos removal.
