About the Course

Perform rescue from a live LV panel (UETDRRF004)

Low Voltage Rescue training encompasses responsibilities for health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.

This course is designed ensure that participants have the skills and knowledge required in the performance of rescue procedures from live Low Voltage (LV) apparatus, not including overhead lines and underground cables in the workplace.

The program is made up of the following nationally accredited unit of competency:

  • UETDRRF004 – Perform rescue from a live LV panel

Please note:  There is a prerequisite requirement that participants hold the unit HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation. Participants will have to provide a copy of their Statement of Attainment to sit this course or alternatively please consider sitting out CPR & LVR combination course.

Who Should Attend

This course is for individuals who already hold a current CPR certification and are required to complete Low Voltage Rescue (LVR) training This applies to electrical workers and safety observers working near low-voltage equipment - mandated under the Electrical Safety Regulation 2013 (Qld) and is essential for compliance and on-site safety.

CSQ Funding

You may be eligible to receive CSQ funding for this unit of competency (UETDRMP007) if you work in the building & construction industry in Queensland.

If eligible, you will receive funding of $69.00, which means an out of pocket expense of $6.00.

Course Description

The LVR component covers the process of performing a low voltage rescue without harm to themselves.

Key areas covered by this course include:

  • Ensuring rescue equipment is ready for use
  • LV rescue kit placement
  • Safe approach distances
  • Identifying, labelling and isolating the LV panel
  • Assessing danger associated with a rescue
  • Removing a victim from contact to a safe location
  • Seeking assistance and handing over to emergency services
  • Securing the site for investigation
  • Reporting protocols

Course Delivery Options

Training will be conducted by one of our experienced trainer assessors who have industry currency, strong knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and industry standards.

Practical and theoretical activities drive the training experience to ensure that the training is engaging, interesting and relevant.

Accreditation 

To complete the course, students must successfully complete all assessments which are aligned with the national unit of competency.

All assessments are completed during the course – no assessment activities need to be completed prior to or post the training course.
