A confined space training course is designed to provide knowledge of confined space entry hazards and procedures for workers involved in controlling entry and working in a confined space as well as emergency procedures. It also covers gas testing and monitoring along with the permit system and the requirements for working under a permit.
Whether you work in a confined space all the time or only on some occasions, this Confined Space Training course will equip you with the knowledge you need to spot hazards, follow safety instructions and keep yourself and others safe whilst working.
This is a nationally recognised unit of competency and therefore your accreditation does not technically expire.
While there is no legislated requirement set out for the refreshing of this competency the AS2865 requires workers to be reassessed to maintain competency to conduct tasks associated with a confined space.
Industry best practice suggests that this competency should be refreshed once every 2-3 years and we consistently work with clients who require refreshing of this competency at least every 2 years.
WorkSafe Connect offers a 4-hour refresher course.
AS2865 defines a confined space as an enclosed or partially enclosed space that is not designed or intended primarily to be occupied by a person and there is a risk of one or more of:
