This program provides a mechanism to recognize whether a mail item is suspected to be an improvised explosive device, or not. It offers Federal Bureau of Investigation guidelines for assessment of recognition points and subsequent Australian Federal Police courses of action in response to mail bombs.
Procedures - Have dedicated procedures in place to manage suspected mail bomb incidents
Training - Undertake training to identify the mail bomb recognition points
Assistance - Have on hand and use the recognition checklist
